Case Study: Sir Charles Parsons School

We were approached by the head of the school to re-design the brand and update it for the twenty-first century. As the school enjoys a close relationship with the history of Sir Charles Parsons, and maintains strong links with the original site and current incarnation of the steam turbine manufacturing company - the design had to reflect this and incorporate this history. Although constrained by the colour choice that was defined by the school, we proceeded to create a stylised illustration that gives a huge nod to a diagramatic representation of a steam turbine. By then combining this with a contemporary typeface - a new visual was born.

The brand has since been applied across the school uniforms, stationery and has even been embedded into the floor of the new entrance hall to the school.

Case Study: SW Famelton - Plumbing Contractors

This was a commission from a new company looking to create a fresh and contemporary visual identity. With a completely blank canvas, we proceeded to make an illustration based around a 'tool of the trade' - the spanner. This we then worked into a brand with an appropriate typeface. The reverse of the card is a layered design created by overlapping technical drawings of pipework combined with text.
